1 1. Umbilical & Elevator Track
Not just a wire. This heavy-duty bundle carries structural tethers, the Myco-Crete bio-slurry pump, and serves as the vertical track for the pressurized Elevator Pod allowing astronauts surface access.
2 2. Airlock Base Station
The canister acts as an anchor and a 90-degree airlock junction. It bridges the vertical elevator shaft and the massive horizontal habitat.
3 3. Flaring Eversion
The fabric exits the narrow 4m canister and immediately flares outward under 1 ATM of pressure, expanding to a massive 20m diameter cavern.
4 4. Internal Scale
At 20m wide, the interior easily fits a flat 'Smart Floor' and standard-sized living modules, giving astronauts a massive, safe volume.

Part 1: The Umbilical & Elevator

The line lowering the canister is an industrial-grade umbilical. It provides the structural strength to lower the payload, contains hoses that pump the bio-slurry down, and acts as the vertical track for a pressurized astronaut elevator pod.

Part 2: The Flaring Junction

Notice the canister at the bottom. It doesn't stretch or bend; it anchors in place to become the primary airlock. The side hatch opens, and the habitat balloons out of it, flaring under pressure until it locks against the 20m wide cave walls.
